Chronic Exposure
In some circumstances, in vivo drug effects cannot be explained by drug-related ion channel effects due to acute exposure. This may be due to ion channel trafficking or to drug chemistry (e.g. large molecules, highly charged molecules, etc.).
To address these situations, we offer assays in which cells are chronically exposed to drug and the effects on ion channels are assessed. In contrast to ion channel trafficking, this assay can detect effects on ion currents and not just surrogate markers.
